LCD monitor flickering ?

I have a Viewsonic VX1962WM 19" with a 1680x1050 resolution LCD monitor.. Latetly i have noticed sometimes when cold booting the PC and getting to windows that the screen will flicker slightly in the background and then after a few seconds its fine and doesnt do it again.

Othertimes it does this is when i change the resolution to something lower the monitor will flicker again sometimes... This flicker isnt a flicker like screen turning off or on.. Its like a wave of shadow behind the screen.. Its the best way i can describe it..

Any idea's ?

Its yoru monitor; when it heats up or begins to heat up and is first ON , and cold it does that then once it gets warm enough it stops doing it..,,tl

Yea thats what i thought, but why would it do this if the monitor is on all day and the ni switch the resolution and then go back to the original resolution. I really noticed this in Bad company 2, because in order to get vsync working in that game you have to switch the resolution and then switch back to your normal one.. Once i started doing that i noticed it flickerd just like the cold boot did.
