LCD - LED backlight

This sounds interesting. LCDs may pass CRTs for professional graphics editing. The LED backlight allows for controlling the R, G, B of the whole display versus the cold cathode which can only control the white light.

This looks promising, but the contrast rating is still no better than normal LCDs and the $6700 price tag is going to be too much for most people.

The response times aren't very good for these monitors either, but it certainly starts to put the nail in the coffin for using a CRT for "professional" use.

I bet it's roughly the same as a 16ms. rated monitor.
