Hey so I'm trying to read an article on AT (LCD technology coincidentally) and I noticed that I'm having a lot of trouble reading without straining my eyes or looking away for a few moments.

The text is sharp, not blurry at all but the screen just seems bright, splotchy and uneven to me. Kind of like if you press your fingers/palms into your eyes for a few seconds; afterwards everything is kind of uneven and bright (if anyone knows what I'm talkin about).

I got ~3 hours of sleep last night and have been at work since 8:30am, think that could be the cause?

If I took a swag at it, I'd say that's it.

Do you take breaks from looking at your monitor, or do you use it for hours straight? At any rate, SonnyDaze is probably right.

LCD's always make my eyes sore, even with the brightness way down they look too bright for me. Maybe I just need to use one constantly to let my eyes adjust. But the lowest brightness on every one I've used wasn't dim enough. My CRT I can look at for 10 hours with no eye fatigue.
