lcd cracked FIXED THE PROBLEM W THE NICE HELP

compaq lappy model v2615 us the lcd is shot,my kid tried to stretch the screen to a
a external lcd and now the external won't pick it up.she did this using video setting.
any idea's.
it has a system restore point on it ,but i have never used it.

if its physically cracked then a system restore wont do anything to fix that

maybe i was unclear.the stretching to the external monitor now prevents me from veiwing any thing on the external monitior.

dpes anything show up AT ALL on the external, even the background? If its blank entirely try hitting fn f5 or whatever button it is to change that and see if the main will come back. If not, it should still display main stuff on the main screen, like boot information and the like, stretching a desktop onto anothe rmonitor doesnt take effect until windows loads, if your not getting image on either screens there may be something more serious then a software issue.

1. Unplug the external monitor.
2. Reboot the machine.
3. Start - Settings - Control Panel - Display
4. Advanced Tab
5. Click the second monitor, uncheck "Extend my Windows Desktop onto this display"
6. Post back here with the results!

thanks for the help .i have been able to extend the lappy on to a 17" monitor
