Just bought a westinhouse 19 ws monitor last month and it has being great, but just recently sometimes this small buzzing sounds come and sometimes the picture goes off, it still shows the green light which means its on unlike when computer goes to sleep. Its there a cause for this buzzing sounds cuz and screen to go blank before i go return it for another one this tuesday before 30days are up!
 
I'd guess the power supply has problems. Return it for sure if it goes blank for no reason - have you tried it on another computer to make sure it's not your video card? Also, IS your computer going into standby when that happens or are you using it?
 
dont have another computer to try it on, by power supply you mean the power cable from the monitor? my video card is a ati 9200, i updated the drivers when i got the monitor and it does support the resolution of it. No, the computer does not go into standby! I guess i do have to return it to best buy for another one because i did not get any warranty, so after 30 days i would have to send it to westinghouse!
 
The power supply would be inside the monitor. If the buzzing is from the monitor and it randomly shuts off, it definitely has a problem.
 
thx bob, i guess it is the monitor. I was checking up online before i came here and other people say somtimes its because of other stuff interfering with the monitor and that its common, etc, but im definately goign to have to return it. I think i know what happen, i accidently press the off button on my surge protectro a few days ago and everything turn off asap and that might of cause like a short and damaged the monitor.

your lcd shouldn't be buzzing since you just bought it there should be no problem returning it for a new one.
