LCD brightness..

I looked up what this meant, candalis or something... I was hoping someone could tell me exactly what it means, and is a higher number better? I'm looking into getting an LCD monitor and I see some more expensive 17" monitors with 250, but ones that are cheaper have 350, so I'm unsure.

I intend to play alot of games on this LCD monitor... or is that a no-no?

Thanks.

For gaming, you want an LCD with a response time of 16ms or less. I don't know about the brightness though.

Well, cheaper monitor might say that they have 350 cd/m2 brightness rating to fool you. 250 is plenty enough (Apple's IPS-based Cinema Displays have 250-270 rating) and you normally don't have the brightness set al the way up.

Are you going to used this LCD for gaming?
