I bought a mobo from newegg a little while ago that arrived doa sort of - it worked but once you shut off the system the bios wouldn't reset or whatever and it wouldn't POST. Newegg said that the mobo was warranted through the manufacturer only, but asus said go through the retailer. I emailed newegg asking about what to do and within a couple hours got an RMA number. Newegg gets  from me for that :)

Although, if the item specifically said "This item is warranted through the product manufacturer only" then you should know that before ordering. If that is their policy about that particular item and you don't agree with it then buy somewhere else. Not every item is labeled like that, but apparently that one is one of them. Sorry, but that's the way it is sometimes.

I don't know why people don't pay attention to stuff like that and then complain when a company follows their policy

Greetings Folks,

I have some news you may want to hear. LRguy was right from the beginning. The blemishes are considered a manufacturer defect. Since this item is warranted through Newegg, LRguy should have gotten an RMA the first time he called. My deepest apologies to everyone, especially to LRguy.

As of now, an RMA has been created and we'll be replacing the LCD monitor. I've also notified certain personnel of this situation. We're going to try and prevent this lack of service from ever reoccurring.

However, should anyone ever need some help, we're only a PM away.

Thank you all.

You know what i hate about customer representatives? Their too robot... They don't even understand the situation and they answer with something thats totally irrelevant. Thats why i like to go to the stores sometimes, people there are just more realistic.

Well I've been to Best Buy, CompUSA, Circuit City, and every other tech store in my area, and I'll take Newegg service over theirs any day of the week.

Most people staffing those stores know jack. And they're not any more willing to take stuff back without charging you fees. At least Newegg isn't pushing me to buy a worthless 3 yr warranty (that in most cases is offered by the manufacturer anyway) for $150 every time I buy something.

And I WAS a phone support person for a software company, and quite frankly, 99% of the issues with stuff is PEBKAC, and not an issue with the service. I realize that may not be true in your case, but MOST of the time, tech support is smarter than you based on my experiences in the industry. It just doesn't take much to outsmart your average consumer - the baseline is pretty low.
