If you have vsync off in a game, such as Counter-Strike 1.6 and Counter-Strike Source, where you get over 75 fps, will this look choppy on LCD's. I know on my bad Dell Monitor, anything with higher FPS than my refresh rate will cause "tearing" and choppiness of the screen. I'm wondering since LCD's only have a refresh rate of 75, if this will occur with vsync off. Lastly, I'm willing to deal with some interpolation problems since I need to run Counter-strike 1.6 at 800 X 600, but I was wondering if running the game at a not-native resolution would mess up the vsync and tearing up anymore?

LCDs will tear just like CRTs do, but the non native resolution will have nothing directly to do with the tearing.

tearing and non-native resolutions are not related. i personally use vsync and ALWAYS stick to native res. vsync eliminates tearing
