Was this guy an actual CalTrans employee, or just a contractor's employee.

Usually, the dumbfucks in the media lump everyone who works on a CalTrans project into the same "CalTrans worker" category...even though most of them actually work for contractors.

If the guy was an actual CalTrans employee...trying to jump over the guardrail was probably the most work he'd done all year...and he failed because it wasn't in his job description. 😛

why does it matter? he expects some reasonable safety in a closed lane, but there was a dumbass driving in that closed lane. her reason for driving in said closed lane is not valid.

i wish she got charged with something more severe.

it should be against the law to be stupid. the punishment should be death.

Hell, I'm not arguing that point. You're 100% correct. I've worked in traffic before, sometimes only separated by cones, sometimes on the back of K-rail. It's amazing how stupid people get in construction zones...They start looking at the work going on, or the equipment doing the work, and POW!, they crash into stopped traffic, or into the K-rail, or into a worker who, like this guy, couldn't get out of the way fast enough.
I had one moron crash into the back of my crane...after plowing through 3 rows of orange cones in the previous 500 feet...fortunately, I wasn't in the seat and didn't have a load on the hook. Totaled his car and did several thousands of $$ in damage to the crane...plus stopped the job until everything got cleaned up and a new crane could be sent out from the yard. That alone cost him several thousand $$.

Yea and cus a woman did it they only gave her some reckless driving citation. If it was a guy he would have been arrested and licence taken away.
