I was going to post this, as it's been on the news, but I thought someone who knew more about the guy should do it. Why would people make fun of him dying?

For the same reason they think the day Cobain died was the "best day ever"... I dunno, ask them.

Because most people are ignorant, insensitive assholes.

You must be shootin up more than he did if you're surprised in any way. He was a druggie. Drugs = Death. End of equation. It isn't general relativity here, takes about 6 brain cells to know better. *sigh*

Sorry, just really sick of talent being wasted on the cerebraly challenged drug chasers in our society.

Don't get me wrong, I'm saddened by his passing, and I empathize with his friends and family...but if you do drugs you know you're gonna die, so, *shrug*....come on. It's exactly the same as putting the gun in your mouth...too bad that it happened but fairly obvious...certainly not surprising in any way.

edit1: What you said jsut kinda irked me...in a way I agree with the whole drug thing. Pay no attention to what I said/typed whatever.

Yes, and so that should give you an idea of the power of addiction.

Yeah, he was heavily into drugs. But this still sucks, Alice in Chains is one of my favorite bands. I loved his voice, too. Add another rock start to the list....

<< Staley told the magazine he did not want to be seen as a rock god or martyr >>

Let's hope the same fags that tried to do that with Cobain don't try to do that with him.

It looks as if his drug use got the best of him. At least he spoke out about it unlike that chickensh!t little coward Cobain.

Problem is that you are "most people" to someone. Think about it.

It was just a matter of time. How many times has he bounced in and out of rehab? I know that the band has put tours and album-making on the back burner b/c Staley either wasn't coherent enough or even around to be a part of the band.

Bands like A1C center around the singer. His voice/his lyrics/his style of writing. A1C will be no more. :( And that's a shame b/c they are one of my favs as well. I had the Dirt cassette waaaaay back in the early 90's and played the daylights out of it in my Walkman. Life goes on though.
