LOL, I am sure that cooled things off with the people who got kicked off their insurance as a direct result of the ACA. "hey, people have lost insurance before". I especially like you think people are "whining about "rising" healthcare insurance costs " when they were promised they would go down and haven't.

I take it you didn't even read what you linked to:

"Premiums for the second-lowest cost silver plan for individuals will fall by an average of 0.8 percent from current levels in these cities when open enrollment begins on Nov. 15, according to the study.

For bronze-level plans, which cover about 60 percent of enrollees’ health expenses on average, the analysis finds that the premium for the lowest-cost bronze option across the marketplaces is increasing an average of 3.3 percent in 2015.
"

So 60% (bronze plans)will see an increase on average of 3.3%. While silver plans which is less with see a 0.8% decrease and no mention of gold and platinum plans. How is that an average savings of $2500?

The silver plans are the equivalent of most employer sponsored plans. That's why they're, you know, a benchmark. Given that silver exchange plans didn't go up, we can figure that will also apply to the vast majority of people, most of whom have employer sponsored plans. Nor is a 3.3% increase exactly a skyrocket ride, ya know?

Save $2500? Now, or somewhere down the road?

Is immediate gratification the be-all & end-all of public policy, or should we look past the ends of our noses?

They only looked at one plan in 16 cities. I would hold off on that victory dance for now.

You need to go back and read better.

Which part did I miss? "For bronze-level plans, which cover about 60 percent of enrollees" that would mean if there was there was only one other plan, silver, that would account for 40% of enrollees (even though there is gold, platinum). This is just rough math but silver has less enrollees than bronze.

It covers 60% of enrollees' health expenses. Not 60% of enrolleees. In fact, silver plans cover about 70% of those enrolled if I remember correctly, so bronze plans are less than 30% of people.

Honestly this is exactly what happened in MA with Romney Care. Costs went up at first then levelled off.

Lameness. Other companies have to be competitive.

Skyrocket not found.

Also, why are conservatives seemingly rooting for big health care price increases? This is like how some liberals rooted for us to fail in Iraq. Gross.

Does the ACA give the president the power to change the law? When in dispute, that contest belongs in a court.

The Constitution lays out other means for solving disputes with Congress- impeachment.

Have at it. Or just keep whining.

It's because nothing matters except their burning desire to Beat Obama! They'd burn down half the country to make the ACA Obama's Waterloo, just as Jim DeMint decreed years ago.

From your link:
During the first three months of the year 2014 Forty-one million U.S. residents, were uninsured.

From Wikipedia:
2008 46.3 Million uninsured.

The largest piece of legislation ever written managed to get a whopping 5 million insured out of 46 million. Ya, smashing success.

And, uhh, how many became uninsured in the biggest Repub induced economic face plant since 1929?

You also fail, predictably, to account for the other positive aspects of the ACA wrt pre-existing conditions, young adults on parents' policies & so forth.

Nevermind that a lot more people would be covered if Red states adopted the Medicaid extension plan...

But Bush......

I am actually a fan of the pre-existing condition portion. For the life of me I don't remember anyone mentioning expanding Medicaid when selling the ACA.

I'm not sure what you are arguing about. There were 48 million uninsured Americans in 2013, the dropped to 41 million in less than five months. I'm not sure why you think that number would drop quicker with the republican disinformation machine spinning at full speed or with republican governors doing the best they can to keep people uninsured.

So yeah! A smashing success almost in the same way premiums have skyrocketed!

Context & history matter.

Your memory is apparently as convenient as ever, too.

The Conservative desperation on this issue is pathetic. The ACA had reduced the uninsured by millions, drastically reduced the threat of medical bankruptcy, choked the growth of healthcare spending, and has reduced the long-term federal budget by TRILLIONS.

Not only is Obamacare a success by every measure, it will be a landmark piece of legislation and cement Obama's legacy as a key figure in presidential history.

The Republicans have been wrong on every claim they've spun, and one again have marched themselves to the wrong side of history.

This is the problem with Liberals, when 46 million is your problem, 5 million is not fixing the problem.
