do u have to pay vonage extra for the 911 service? if so, that's pretty whacked.
Abbott's lawsuit, filed in the District Court of Travis Country, Texas, accuses Vonage of deceptive marketing practices for not making clear to customers that they must sign up separately for 911 service, instead of its automatically being part of the Vonage VoIP offering.

BULLSH!T.
That was the FIRST thing I read about while signing up, and the first thing I changed when my phone box came.
It's spelled out VERY clearly on their website and when you sign up. In fact, I don't think they could be any MORE clear about it.

why do they have the option of registering though?
its not like you plan on a certain place to use it
it would make more sense to have it automatic i think

A lot of people don't always use the box where it's registered. Some people travel with their boxes as well.
