ok so i dont have a seperate resevoir for my oil. i am thinking i take off the air filter cover and put the oil in there. but i dont know for sure, the air filter has a medium sized hole which looks like it was made for oil to go through. the mower i got doesnt seem to have a manual and it is weed eater 20 inch model 961140007 any ideas?

It should be a Briggs and Stratton 4 cycle engine. The oil should go into the crankcase close to where the motor mounts to the deck on the same side as the muffler. Here is a picture of the oil fill cap you should be looking for, lmk if that's it. sometimes they get covered with all kinds of crap and they can't be seen

here's a pic of fill cap

No, no, no. Do NOT put oil in there. Take some pics of the base of the motor where it mounts to the mower deck. You will see the fill plug there. Take a picture from all four sides of the mower.

had the exact same motor on my last mower, a yard machines. The fill cap should look like the pic
linked from e-bay, near the bottom of the motor. Some mfgs. will put a tube there and add a dipstick
so it's easy to check/add oil, in this case it you will see a label on top of the dipstick saying "oil" and
the recommended viscosity. Remember to change the oil frequently, (20-30 hours) air cooled engines
run hot and need it.
