Lawn maintenance of a different kind

For the last several days I've been keeping the lawn well watered after doing a heavy dose of weed killing and overseeding. Over the last couple of days I've noticed some "bumps" in my back yard that seems to be just what. you'd see in a cartoon from a burrowing animal.

At best I've got a couple moles that have come a munching, it seems they are attracted to wet areas as that keeps their food happy.

So without going bill murray, what's some effecting ways to get the little bastards to move along.

Drill a hole approximately 4 feet deep. Bury a steel post in the hole. Solder a heavy lead wire to the pole. Remove the cover from your microwave oven and disconnect the antenna lead. Solder the antenna lead to the steel pole you buried. Plug in microwave and run on full power until moles either leave or catch fire.

Because part of the reason for the heavy lawn maintenance was improving the prospects of moving out of the house.

Having the yard look like verdun circa 1917 probably wouldn't be as helpful.

adopt a stray cat. I remember growing up with random mole and gopher parts laying around the house that our cat would bring in.

I remember my dad trying all kinds of things. The thing that helped the most was flooding their tunnels. Stick a garden hose into one of the openings and let it run until water comes back out. They always came back eventually, but that was the longest fix. They had a cat that would catch them sometimes, but they had several cats and only one of them would hunt.

Ya but then you have a nasty pussy hanging around, which can attract other nasty pussies.

You're just trading one problem for another.
