If a cop asks to search your car while he/she has your pulled over. If i say, "sir no disrespect i rather you not search my car."

What happens after that?

Ya, i know if you have nothing to hide than just let them search.

If they have reason to believe you have something illegal in your car, then they search it anyway...

You spit some hot fiyah at them and then they lift up their shirts and ask you to sign their chest.

Wait, what?

If they search anyway, anything they find and arrest you for will be thrown out at trial time*.

*Only if they follow the Constitution, and even then they can pull the "reasonable suspicion" card. It's complete bullshit.

Actually, OP understands his rights, it seems. One should never consent to a search.

Also, never admit fault to a police officer.

Sad but true. Honesty can sometimes sink you.

They would have to have probable cause to search. Say if they pulled you over for speeding, walked up to your window and smelled pot smoke, they could search.

In general, this is a pretty iffy thing to challenge - better to not transport any bodies in the trunk just to be safe.

you stand there until the officer figures out what to do next.

I got asked that numerous times. All I said was, no. Of course I am not a criminal, have no record, never been arrested and only one moving violation. However, that doesn't stop police harassment.

On multiple occasions? Or numerous times in the same traffic stop? Any idea what they expected to find?

I've been stopped a bunch of times, but they've never asked to search my car. Are you a non-Asian minority?

they'll call in for a paperless search warrent. reason: they have suspicion that u r hiding something.

in other words, asking is just a formality

I was pulled over some months ago for a registration issue (had the sticker, just wasnt on the plate). While he had me out of the car, sitting on the curb he asked to search my car. I told him no he may not. Well he called in a K9 unit which proceeded to sniff my car from the outside looking for drugs I guess. Never found any any after a little lecture he sent me on my way.

a warrant has to specify what they are looking for. no judge is going to issue a warrant without specifics over the phone. i know there were some special dui checkpoints set over Memorial Day that if you refused a field sobriety test that a paperless warrant was issued to get an immediate blood sample.

Usually reasonable cause, inventory when towing/impounding, or an arrest are the main reasons for vehicle searches. you can refuse a search but a leo can still hold you for a reasonable time if they want to bring out the drug dog.

So I pull over to the side of the road
I heard "Son do you know what I'm stoppin' you for?"
"Cause I'm young and I'm black and my hat's real low
Do I look like a mind reader sir, I don't know
Am I under arrest or should I guess some mo'?"
"Well you was doin' fifty five in a fifty four"
"License and registration and step out of the car"
Are you carryin' a weapon on you I know a lot of you are"
"I ain't steppin' out of shit all my papers legit
"Do you mind if I look 'round the car a little bit?"
Well my glove compartment is locked so is the trunk and the back
And I know my rights so you gon' need a warrant for that
"Aren't you sharp as a tack? are some type of lawyer or something?"
"Or somebody important or somethin?"
"Nah, I ain't pass the bar but I know a little bit
Enough that you won't illegally search my shit
"Well see how smart you are when the K-9's come"
I got 99 problems but a bitch ain't one
Hit me

good watch.

I think it's good in that it, in a rather basic way, educates people about their rights. However, the video also displays the hero figure (Daryl) lying to the police officer. So while I think it's a good video overall, it has some issues.
I don't endorse or advocate lying - whether it's concerning police or daily life. However, this is one area in police/citizen interactions that has always perplexed me. It is acceptable and considered good tactics for police to lie to citizens but illegal for citizens to lie to police.

I got stopped all the time.

I am just an average Caucasian guy, but back then I had seriously long hair like in those hairbands I listened to.

I drove a 1968 Buick Skylark 2dr with a modded 350.

Are there any good websites that I can read to learn constitutional rights and state rights?
