The ending was bullshit, just like when the black dude left normal L&O.

It was pretty good. Of course they took advantage of his voicing fake characters, which was expected. I wonder if that character will come back sometime in the future.

Yeah, I'm guessing they're going to replace him with the other fat black guy from internal affairs in that episode? I'm not sure how keen I am on the white guy yet...he's still fairly new too. Too early for another character change, IMO.

'if he's wearing those cuffs in the water he must've drowned.' ya im really sure after all the planning he went through his body is going to be found by dredging up the river. they might as well had mariska and christopher break the 4th wall, wink to the camera and say 'just kiddin', he'll be back for the season finale!'.

but i did enjoy williams' performance and i always like when he plays a darker character. he'll most definetly get a emmy nomination for it. and just because the ending was hokey still doesnt take away my enjoyment of this show. mo rocca in a cameo role was a nice surprise also.

So you were sitting next to Robin Williams when you watched L&O?

Damn straight!!

10x better than any flavor of CSI

Seriously, CSI, Bones, Criminal Minds, etc, etc, can all kiss L&O's and L&O:SVU's ass.

...I do like The Closer though.

I had a few problems with the ending. Why was there no backup anywhere near the exploding warehouse? I can see where Elliot would have demanded to go in alone, but they would have had somebody a few blocks away that would have come running when the building went up. And they didn't satisfy me that they had thoroughly searched the thicket and dump area between the point where they lost him and the shore.

I generally find L&O episodes pointless, but this one was better than most, largely due to Williams' acting. Instead of getting that empty 'I could have used this hour to read or sleep' feeling that I usually get when the Wolf Films logo comes up, I just felt the denouement left too many unanswered questions.

CSI = L&O + 1000% more impossible B.S. + over dramatized acting + maximum color saturation

My wife and I debated the "true" outcome also. My thought process was that there is no way on the planet that someone would be that meticulous and not have a hiding place or alternate escape route planned. Her take was that he did go into the water and commit suicide because he was all about control and he was then able to control how his life ended.

Now that I think about it, her side really doesn't do it for me because he could have just blown himself up in the building and accomplished the same thing. Based on the fact that he was already able to commit murder, there really wasn't anything that should have stopped him in that case either.

So you plan that whole debacle with fake screaming, big bomb and everything else and then not have an escape route? That makes no sense.

And it was never about having control, his whole message was not blindly follow.

That was my point also. That there was no reason to go to those lengths and not have an out. She countered your second point by saying that to truly not follow, you have to lead/have control.

It wasn't about control though - it was about thinking for yourself. His wife/kid died because he didn't think for himself and instead followed the authority. Being in control implies that there are people blindly following you - the exact thing he was against.

I know. Her point was that being in control means controlling your own fate. Which, if he did drown himself, he was able to do.

well thats not saying much these days, most law and order/csi eps are ironing ur laundry type programming. background noise.

svu is generally the best of the 3 l&o. this eps was decent. better than average. but if u want to see robin williams in all out creepy mode watch one hour photo. that was trippy.

the tv interviewer after the trial looked familiar. and the guy making a speech at the rally looked like a public radio guy...

were there atleast a couple cameos on this eps?
