Well my 360 just started freezing today when I decided to try out the Halo Wars demo. At first it was only freezing when I'd start the demo. Now it freezes almost instantly when I turn it on. I have a launch console so I'm surprised it lasted this long. I hope they have some Jasper units at Best Buy because I wanted a new one anyway.

Anyone know how much the cost is on average for this issue? It's no RROD but that extended warranty ended on Feb 2nd anyway.

Edit: It just RROD'd.. like 30 seconds ago.

Noooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!

I know you shouldn't have to for a well-designed product, but you could just add a couple of small 4-6 cm fans in there. This pretty much bulletproofs my launch X360.

I just went and got a Jasper arcade unit. I'm debating on getting a 120GB hDD since my 20 is pretty much full. I'm also debating on buying some points, Street Fighter 4 with a new stick... DAMN YOU MS! DAMN YOU!!!!

I have a PS3 as well but I just enjoy my 360 more... obviously.

Mine still works but for how long is another question.

My launch 360 is still working as well - guess I'm another lucky one.

I've been debating on whether or not to buy a new Elite, once I'm sure that I will get a Jasper.

I would consider you unlucky, because yours didn't die while under warranty. If you play it, it eventually will die, and then you have to replace it yourself. :(

While I applaud MS for doing the right thing by extending the warranty to a rather generous 3 years, it bothers me that people are now having to pay to replace consoles that failed because of a clear design flaw.

I consider myself lucky not having to go through the time of sending it back for repair/replacement.

At this point I think if gotten more than my money's worth out of it, since it's over 3 years old and have thousands of hours of play time on it.

We'll see how you feel about that when it finally does RROD. :p

I already answered that statement above, but I will repeat it for you. I am eventually going to buy an Elite, so I don't really care if my current release box RRODs. I don't expect electronic equipment to last forever - maybe you do?

I dont expect it to last forever, but I expect them to be free of design flaws like the RROD. You've certainly gotten your moneys worth, but maybe you're just rolling in the dough, cause if my 360 went down due to a common flaw after the warranty period I'm not going to walk with a smile on my face to buy another one. Yes, you have been lucky to this point, but I'd rather have one failed and get fixed before the warranty is up.
