They should send him another offer of 1 year, 1 cent. Make sure the media is there too to report on his reaction.

That guy is an embarassment to the entire league. They should definitely cut his ass, where I come from if you don't work you don't get paid. But knowing Sprewell if they gave him the boot he'd likely yell racism.

i love the leon commericals.

Leon > Sprewell, 'cause Leon's at least funny. :)

Seriously, the Knicks kind of brought him back from the dead, trading for him after the choking incident when no one else had any interest. You'd think he be a little grateful for how close he came to being "done" in the NBA a few years back. I'll admit I liked him as a Knick and thought he had gotten a bad rap but seeing these comments just make me thinks I was dead wrong about him.

How can he call racism ? 95% of the NBA is black.

the NBA is full of thugs. This is no surprise. There are some classy guys in there, but for the most part I would rather hire a high school kid then these guys to do any job that requires thought.

Is it a surprise that they are so immature though? Where else do 18 year olds get 100 million dollar contracts? Even the first draft picks of baseball's drafts usually don't play in the majors for at least a couple of years. And then the NFL of course has their 3 year minimum or whatever that rule is.

Note to the NBA: stop worrying about how your high school draft picks will respond on the court. Worry about how they respond off of it.

So what ? If they boot him, 94.9% of the NBA players are still black.
I really don't he can call racism if the majority of the employees of the NBA are black.

we didn't say he was going to win, we just said he would say it. Nothing out there to stop him from writing a book about it

NBA players are by far the most selfish and classless of all the professional athletes. It's funny how the most physically demanding sport (NFL), has the worst set of rules for their players (e.g. no guaranteed contracts, weak union compared to baseball, etc).

Disagree. The NHL is much more physically demading IMO...and they play 80+ games a season.

The NHL isn't exactly a model league for player-owner relations. :p I think rsd's point was that given the NFL's physical demands, their players' association lacks many of the protections of other leagues.

he's just saying the NHL is more physicall demanding, which arguably it is.
Their player-owner relations strain is another class strugle. the "poor" rich athletes making under 600k (as MANY hockey players do) don't want to be on strike as much as the 10million+ hockey players do, since you know, the 10mil+ hockey players don't really need money, they can not work for the rest of their lives and be fine, but the "poor" hockey players are not at such a dispossition.

the nhl's labor dispute saddens me... but yea sprewell is a fool :)

actually... didn't some ppl play the racism card in the hiring of coaches? wasn't there a big stink about detroit not interviewing "black" candidates? that was kinda dumb... or maybe i just dont understand the situation.

but yeah, i doubt he'll play the race card. what's he gonna say? the owners don't want to pay him becuz he is black? sh!t man... i don't think spree could count 5 non-black nba players that make more then him.

Spree is a punk and the Wolves would do best to kick him to the curb. He's nothing but posion now. They got plenty of players to fill the gap.

yes... logically that would be the case. We are dealing with Sprewell however. Gotta try to think like him... "hmm, i have 2 white teammates. Time to play the racism card."
