Interesting. Wonder if it could be what they "oiled" it with. Seems strange that wood would do that after long use.Don't have any links, but I used to participate in a couple wind instrument forums, and people would sometimes develop allergies to exotic woods, to the point where an instrument they used to be able to play without issue would cause their lips to swell, and their face to break out. The wood was mainly from the blackwood family. Don't know how widespread it is.
