It is a sexy wheel. The stitching is very nice.

i just like how much more comfortable it feels in my hands, larger diameter and it has some padding. got it cheap too :p

Now you just need the steering rack from the M ;)

well seeing how cheap the Z4M is already, i'm going to upgrade to one in a year or get a boxster next year :p.

Yeah, lease buyout offers BMW has been shooting out for Z4 Ms are insane. I saw $27,500 for one person and $31,000 for another. The $31k included the CPO certification and warranty.

Some quick mods to the angel eyes and fogs... it came in a demoralizing amber before...

before
after
after 2

GP Thunder 8500K for both. I had started a thread on halogen/hid/etc. a week ago to get to the bottom of the temps and this was a perfect white.

Also swapping out the amber side reflectors there for clear ones.

Need to do that, too... I have the amber fogs on my 540i, just doesn't look right.

Just ordered some eibach springs, replacement boge struts and control arm bushings & ball joints (damn shimmy).

July I'll be due for a tranny fluid and filter swap.

Nice!

I was planning on getting the GP Thunder 7500K and 3500K for the fogs. How bright are your lights during the day?

The angel eyes? Keep in mind the 8500K I put in are both halogen. They will surely stand out, especially if the car ahead of you is looking in their rearview and see you. At dusk, they're almost like high beams from many angles except they don't actually get in your eyes. I'd have to ask why the mismatch temp though, unless you're talking about HID fogs? Not sure if you have the cornering fogs but I stayed away from HIDs as they turn on and off at every turn under a certain mph.

Here's how the whole package looks with low beams (stock HIDs) on. The AEs dim a bit when HIDs are on (not sure if it's done on purpose or because of the power draw)... I have read that if you go with $$$ LEDs (like PIAA) for AEs, the dimming won't occur when you pop on the HIDs.

all on

You can imagine how weak it looked before with the white HIDs and mismatched amber AEs & fogs.

I read somewhere that 4300k will give you the most light - any numbers higher than that just change the color temperature and may result in decreased lighting capability.

I'm no expert, though.

HIDs temps are different than halogen temps. The ones I got up at 8500K (the pure whites you see) are halogen temps.

HID gets beyond white and turns blue-ish at a much lower number. HID 6000K is already blue-ish. The stock HIDs headlights you see in the pic are 4300K. Something in between 4300K - 6000K is a nice pure white (again I didn't get HID ae/fogs).

Doggiedog, I'm not sure if you meant 7500K HIDs for the AE... those will be blue-ish if so, white if 7500K halogen. 3500K HID for fogs will be the amber you intend for though.

I'm just assembling the parts to do a Games Console install in the M3. Ordered the AV cable adapter for the TV module and a 12v GameCube power lead. I already have the spare Cube and wavebird controller.
