Someone's been hiding under a rock. Return your 5900. now. And get an ATI card. FX cards performance suck in DX9.

Yes, the 45.23's are the best drivers going for the FX series right now.

Yeah, that's why I absolutely HATE these forums for anything video related. Months ago I made a suggestion that they ban ATI vs. nVidia the same way they had banned Intel vs. AMD, but my suggestion was ignored. This is the kind of crap I can't stand. It's one thing for a person to start an inflamatory thread, but when there's a legitimate question it's just ridiculous.

From what I've been reading and my brother's experience with his 5900 non u there wasn't much of a performance increase with the new drivers-but he did notice that 50s wouldn't feed his dog when asked.

I'm just amazed at how defensive people get over video card brands. I prefer Coke over Pepsi, but I like Mountain Dew (pepsi product). I guess that makes me evil and a hippocrate right? No, I just go with what I like, not with the brand.

I got with the brand that I feel is the most efficient at the time. Efficiency means having the power without the power. For instance AMD Athlon XP 1.667Ghz being able to compare with the Intel Pentium4 2GHz.

Right now, the companies most efficient to me are: AMD cpu's and ATI for vpu's.

I made my comment because you are getting ripped off...FX does not properly support DX9...it is advice. If you didn't buy the FX to run DX9 games my apologies.

Hmm...the fact that FX does not properly support DX9 makes it sound like I am giving sound advice...if I had spend that much money on a vid card I would like to know that it doesn't work as advertised before I got the rude awakening when I try to play my game. I'm not an "ATI kiddy"...I currently have a GF4 Ti4200 and I'm not really planning on upgrading any time soon...I could really care less. I was trying to give the guy advice. So what's your problem?

I would like to note the only reason I said anything was becuase he JUST bought a 5900 to replace a 9700...otherwise I would have kept quiet.
