Automotive gets it's own category? You kidding me.....what a joke. Whoever is responsible for this upgrade must not visit the forums at all to think we would need an automotive category.

I disagree. I think there is plenty of interest in it.

I'm liking the new categories so far, and I'm liking even more the tweaks being made. Can't wait for the console/PC gaming forums!!!!!

Yeah, the good thing about splitting the automotive off is that people that aren't interested can hide it, while the fair amount of folks who do ask/answer questions can more easily find posts and such. Same goes for a few other things.

The downsides to over-splitting is when you get such low traffic in a particular forum, so then people post their questions in higher-traffic forums hoping for a quick answer.

Hmmmmm.... What might be nice down the line is being able to list a forum by category, so you could effectively filter out any number of topics. So you list all the social forums at once (minus whichever ones you hide in your profile options)... Sound decent?

I think the off-topicish forums will be less of a playground now, and maybe the ATOT effect will disappear!

Anyhow, what happened to "Technical Support"?

Ah they changed it to "Computer Help".

demand and discussion have lead us to decide on axing automotive ...

it'll be moving back to OT.

Awesome, looks like AT really listened to the users and made the necessary changes to the categories. Now things are pretty good, can't complain really.......and that's saying a lot :)

the actual active user base and its interests probably do not justify so many sub catagories, its insane. you are just going to have a lot of dead sub catagories which are not very useful to anyone. frankly it clutters up the webpage and is poor for navigation. its just not user friendly

QFT. WTH have they done to my beloved AT forums. :(

Can we still customize the themes?

this is stupid. axing them already? I was actually quite happy for the automotive forums. I always hated asking anything in Off Topic b/c of all the idiots who like to crap up the threads there. Why not wait and see how the new forums fair and decide their fate in a couple months?

I like this change, a lot. The old forums were getting dull. This really cleans things up!

WTG AT

I EVEN SEE A PROGRAMMING SECTION!!! *Falls over and dies*

*edit: Lol, code attachments don't format correctly :)
*edit2: Infact code attachments seem to get passed through one of FT's various Random() + Substring() class / methods :D

holy crap! too many categories!

gaming should be 1 forum, i don't see why we need so many separate hardware forums (a PSU forum? are you f-ing kidding me?), contests should go under free stuff.

way to split everything up so no one visits already half dead forums.
