latest Crysis Trailer

Do you guys think an X800Pro with an Athlon XP 3200+ can run this game whatsoever? 🙂

Obviously it could 🙂. In all seriousness, if Crytek is anything like Valve, hopefully, their game will scale back well on older hardware (a la HL2).

Yeah I bet it will run low res maybe 800x600.

Also it depends on it they wrote a SM2.0b path for it and don't just require 3 or 4. But I would seriously hope it can run it on low detail at like 8x6 or something

Thanks.

So I *barely* meet the minimum system requirements. My CPU isn't really as fast as the ones that they list, but I think the difference is only 10% or so, so I should be ok (I hope!).

Sounds like it will be upgrade time for me this year. There are a bunch of cool CPUs and graphics cards coming out so I'm looking forward to it.

I think most people will still be able to play this game just fine. In order for them to really make any money, both retail sales of the game itself and licensing of the graphics engine, they have to keep the software flexible to hardware scaling.

Just for perspective, I remember when Far Cry first came out and most thought you needed at least a 9700Pro or faster to even run it. I finished it using a 128mb 8500 at 1024x768 using a mixture of tweaks just to see if it could be done without sacrificing enjoyment. Believe it or not, even FEAR can be made to run reasonable well, albeit at 800x600 on old HW like the 128mb 8500.

Wasn't dx 10/vista required to play Crysis? Look like my 7800gt can play it but obveriously no dx 10 support
It just requires that DX10 is installed. Your card doesn't need to have DX10 support, just like how you can play current DX9 games without DX9 cards.

yeah vista has both dx9 and dx10 and crysis runs on both.

according to ebgames, its release date is now held back to the end of 2007, like october or something, always seems any game thats really nex gen looking always comes out when quite a few other games already look as good...remember doom3

The original Far Cry blew every other game available out of the water graphics wise.

Crazy awesome. I'm actually excited, expecially considering I've just shelled out for a new system including an 8800. The depth of field effect is impressive and I've been waiting for something to replicate doom berserker mode. Seems as though it's going to look amazing and play amazing. Consoles can suck PC dick.
cheers

i always thoguth farcry predator looked pretty awesome, better graphics and had actual ocean waves, something i never saw eslehwere, never got to play it but looked awesome
