You have to create about 40 brutes to finally get one with a dog / wolf.

I've done about 80 brutes and so far only 2 with dogs.

The best starting weapon is the 2-ball mace. ownage usually in 2 hits.
 
This game is starting to become "unfun" because of the bots that spam character generation to create brutes with the best stats/pets. You can tell the generated ones because they have names like 2#$nldgndn.

The developers have started to delete the bots though. For a while they were rampant, the one guy went from 1 to 139 in about 4-5 days, before the developers deleted his account and the accounts of some of the other botters at once.

I played dinorpg until i ran outta coins, but the next day i came back and still didn't have a turn. Day after that, still no turn. Yet again, a week later, i have more coins to buy a potion to give me a turn, but no automatic turns...

Wierd, it worked fine for me. My guy is up to lvl 4.
 
My new character (ClownBaby88) got horrible stats, but got one of the sweetest speciality bonuses available (in my opinion). It's called impact. Whenever I hit them, their weapon flies out of their hands. It didn't help in the first round, but I can see this being quite powerful as the levels go up, where I'll have weapons and just knock my opponents out of their hands after 1 hit.

Yep, it can be very handy. My main KeithTalent has it and it has saved me many times. Some guys end up with 8 weapons or more and you can pick them off one by one as they equip, if you have enough speed, which I do thankfully.

the best thing about having one of the animals is that not only do they attack, but they take up a % of the enemy brute's attacks altogether because the enemy tends to focus on them until they are gone.

Wolves are insane. They attack so many times in succession, it's ridiculous. I don't think I have won a single fight when the other combatant had a wolf. I've beaten guys with bears and multiple dogs, but wolves, no freaking way.

Wolves are insane. They attack so many times in succession, it's ridiculous. I don't think I have won a single fight when the other combatant had a wolf. I've beaten guys with bears and multiple dogs, but wolves, no freaking way.

you have a level 8 guy right? any pets? my top 2 brutes are level 6. neither of them have "pets" (lack of a better term lol) but my level 6 guy has the double-ball spiked mace as well as the 'impact' skill. it's a lethal combo! 🙂
i have a few other side brutes with dogs, but only the wimpy "Dog A" dogs.

I finally beat a guy with a bear last night. I agree about the wolves being worse than bears... they attack too many times in succession. One of my good brutes just got ?"cry of the damn" which is supposed to send pets running away. 🙂

I have one level 8 guy, a level 7, a couple of level 6ers, and the rest are 5 or lower. Never received a single pet on any of them, which I find a little bizarre.

One of my brutes has that mace and it is bloody awesome, assuming she pulls it out of course. I try to avoid fight with guys that have a lot of agility though because they seem to be able to dodge more often.
