i've been expriencing some odd problems with my ISP and
i'd like to know if anyone can help me... (i[m connected with cable btw)
well the issue is latency as i'm an online gamer
when connecting to my ISP's VPN l2pt server
i exprience aprox 150ms higher ping to a a certain IP inside the ISP's network
then when i am connected VIA PPTP VPN server
now if the issue was as simple as that i would simpliy connect VIA PPTP VPN server and live happily ever after.
but when i connect VIA PPTP i have odd ping spikes inside other networks (apox 100ms)
those pikes should not happen and do not happen when i am connected with L2PT (then )
i've also tested with a friend of mine who has ADSL with same ISP and he has none of the above issues
exectly the same routing yet no ping spikes.
in all the above cases the routing outside the ISP's Network is EXECTLY the same.
do some routers delay PPTP/L2PT packets? whats going on.
will connecting directly without VPN
improve this behaivor (extra cost involved)
