Late night toll booth workers, good or bad job?

I just got home and got off at the turnpike exit near my house and don't understand how they keep 4 booths open this late at night? There is almost no traffic. Then to make matters worse all the workers are all just kinda sitting there waiting for something to happen. I kinda feel bad for em cause their time must go by so slowly when working the late shitfs.

Anyone ever done this kind of work before? Can you get the internet in your booth and a TV?

Some roads are private toll roads - so, it may not be our tax dollars paying for their salary. Personally, I don't mind if a person was to entertain themselves with the Internet. Sitting in that booth must be awfully boring.

i would get upset if they didnt respond to a car right away because they were surfing the web or watching tv though

The military develops tons of things, provides a lot of jobs, etc. I don't think it's useless

Well I made a little cross mix. I think the money spent in the military could be spent a lot better. I was more referencing to Switzerland but I think the money invested into those anti-missile blabla could be put to a better use.
