From the other thread:
Loved it, makes me want to vote for Trump even more since he got smarmy Oliver in a tizzy. And why didn't Oliver bring up Grand Hyatt Hotel, Trump Tower #1, NYC's Wollman Rink or The Apprentice and Celebrity Apprentice as wildly successful businesses? Because it didn't fit his liberal narrative. Every successful businessman is going to have some failures, everyone knows this. Trump is getting free advertising from Oliver, love it.

How did you feel about Oliver showing that Trump was a pathological liar? Did that make you want to vote for him more too? How about the part where he showed that Trump is so thin-skinned about any perceived insult that he's still trying to convince a magazine editor that he has normal sized fingers decades after a story on the subject? Is that an attractive quality to you?

Sounds like a top notch presidential candidate to me, lol.

Thin skin? lol. I loved how Trump actually revealed Oliver's thin skin. One diss to his buddy Jon Stewart's name change and Oliver had to go back 300 years of Trump heritage to look for something that isn't even a diss. Reach much Oliver? Love it.

I like that Trump fights back and won't take shit from anyone. Would love to see evidence of a picture about his fingers which they of course they didn't have. Stay tuned for more made-up stories about Trump as they try to fling feces at the alpha leader.

Who doesn't lie? Are you kidding me? Everyone lies, especially politicians and especially successful people. Example: Hillary won't release her Wall St speech transcripts because it will contradict her current narrative that she is against Wall St. Everyone lies, Trump, Hillary, Rubio, Cruz, and Sanders. You are naive like a child if you think any politician is telling the truth.

Haha yes, clearly. You realize that was a joke, right? It's funny that Trump tries to attack other people for changing their names when his own name was changed.

I like that Trump fights back and won't take shit from anyone. Would love to see evidence of a picture about his fingers which they of course they didn't have. Stay tuned for more made-up stories about Trump as they try to fling feces at the alpha leader.

Huh? Whether or not his fingers are actually short is totally irrelevant. The guy is so insecure that he's trying to convince a nobody magazine editor that his fingers are normal sized decades after it happened.

I mean can you imagine being that insecure that you're clipping magazines decades after someone made fun of you to try and convince them that they're wrong? Surely even you have to laugh at how pathetic that kind of behavior is, right? I mean even I felt a little bad for him when I read about that. It's just sad.

So by your own admission Trump lies constantly but you said that he appealed to you because he 'tells it like it is'. Do you not see the basic logical disconnect there?

The people who have or intend to vote for Trump are literally incapable of adult level thought. It's impossible to think a man who permanently acts like an 8 year old could be a capable President unless you yourself also thinks and acts like an 8 year old. You can't have an intelligent discussion with these people because these are the type who think "I know you are but what am I?" is a valid argument.

Trump is a product of a broken electoral/government system. Your system thrives off extremism and lack of getting things done. Couple that with an insanely long election and widespread corruption, and you get Trump.

By design, folks. Greatest democracy in the world.

God, I love what John Oliver has done with his show. It's kind of a shame those who disagree with his political stances may not then be able to enjoy the laser-focused comedy writing within.

For those folks, I give you the part in his Drumpf rant where The Donald said he wouldn't even know what John Oliver looks like and Oliver then helpfully self-describes himself as "a near-sighted parrot who works in a bank." Comedy gold, Jerry! :p

And you just linked the same exact link as the OP. Comedy gold indeed - that's the same as liking your own post on Facebook.

Oliver is a smarmy hipster who has finally jumped on the media-funded Trumpwagon. What is the saying? "There's no such thing as bad publicity". Thankfully they are promoting Trump more than Hillary, can't look a gift horse in the mouth.

First of all, NO, I did not link "the same exact link" as the OP. I highlighted a brief, less than one minute excerpt (you do have to stop listening on your own, dear) from what was otherwise a 21 minutes long rant.

It is, quite literally, not "the same exact link." If you wish to further reserach this FACT, compare the two urls. Factual discourse requires factual precision. Try to keep up.

Secondly, NO, it is absolutely NOT "the same as liking your own post on Facebook." As with your factual fudging, please try harder to craft analogies that actually hold up and pertain, k? :colbert:

All these attacks on Trump don't carry a lot of weight when his immediate competition is establishment tool Marco Ruboto and just plain tool Ted Cruz. It's the same reason the latest attacks on Trump being a "con man" won't turn things back around to the establishment. Better to roll the dice and maybe get lucky than seal your fate with a confirmed establishment loser. Oliver's skit was entertaining and hit a lot of bull's eyes but it completely missed the point when it brought those two up as some sort of more legitimate alternatives.

There actually is such a thing as bad publicity for good people. But Trump isn't a good person. The people that support him aren't good people. Remember when Trump said that he could literally murder another person and he wouldn't lose supporters? People like you are the reason. You ignore every horrible, degenerate, monstrous, shitty thing he does because ... honestly I don't know. He has ZERO good qualities yet people like you are stumping for him like he's buying you weekly blowjobs. You simply prove that his supporters are so fucking stupid that it's impossible for him to lose your support because you don't have enough wits to make an intelligent decision.

I can't get past his rambling, ADHD speeches.

I'll need to catch this tonight. John Oliver is usually pretty funny, but some of his stuff is hit or miss with me.

If being a shitty human being was reason for not voting for President. Hillary would be out the door as well. Her policy in Libya has killed tens of thousands of people. Her Iraq vote contributed to over one million dead. And she cant wait to follow up those humanitarian disasters with Syria.

I will say this. And this is my opinion on the sad state of the American electorate. Of all the shitty things Donald Trump has said, done, or threatened to do. That Drumpf thing may be what would hurt him the most. People are so easily turned off by the most inane things.

Your link: https://youtu.be/DnpO_RTSNmQ?t=187
OP link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DnpO_RTSNmQ

It's the same freaking video. Saying you liked a part of the OP and then relinking to the part you liked is still linking to the same video. Please tell me you're trolling me.

It'd be a lot easier (and NORMAL) to just say, "I liked the part where he says 'xyz'" than relinking to the same video in the OP. I thought he was linking to a different Oliver video. Waste of fucking time.
