dude, if you're aching for 2x512 just get samsung pc2700 for that price

trust me, unless you're planning on going over 191 fsb you're not going to be missing that overpriced stuff. If you're doing video editing, more ram will equal more speed than faster ram. 1 stick of 512mb on pricewatch right now is 66 dollars shipped =P. Can't beat that with a stick.

Interesting discussion...however, has anyone got a prediction on what memory will likely be needed to get the most out of the upcoming Canterwood boards?

I'm in the unfortunate situation where I can't wait for the Canterwoods, and am building an "interim" rig until they arrive. I'm planning on using the Intel D845PEBT2 (can get a used one for free), and was about to start shopping for 2x Corsair 512 modules. I'd been thinking of using just the non-matched LL...but after thinking about it, perhaps the Corsair TWINX512-3200LLPT 512MB might be better? Then again, not really knowing what it will take to get the most out of the Canterwoods, would it be better to open the wallet and spring for the Corsair 3500?

(By the way, I'm assuming the Intel D845PEBT2 should be fine with any of the above type memory...anyone know for sure?)

yes, all those sticks will be fine. and TWINX is no different than LL sticks, other than testing in an A7N8X mobo. I have no idea, however, what canterwood is, I'm an AMDer, sorry.

and I am leaning towards the 3200LL myself right now, it looks damn sechsy at $92 at newegg (I think, maybe googlegear), and thats the platinum version (which is cheaper for some weird reason)!!!
