I guess I might have put a :| face on the topic, but actually I feel good about it.
I worked with nincompoops (see rant) </a>
Well, it appears that the manager could not fire me because I actually showed improvement for the department in lowered total number of product defects, quicker defect response time and earlier product release (which means I actually met the deadline). However, I am a contractor and I am bounded by the contract. Which expires today. The stupid contracting firm thought this manager would automatically re-up the contract. However, I knew since last month this manager would not. And I told the contracting company this last month. So they are more incompetent than the department I will soon not be working for.
So I do have other job offers and there is one I'd really like to have - that is, if they get funding, which looks they may not now
The biggest reason that I am not mad is that I am going to Jazzfest in New Orleans next weekend and spending the whole week. If I was still in this present job, I'd have to take the week off and still give a two week notice. With this I don't have to give a notice and there won't be an issue with the unpaid vacation.
So while they think they are getting rid of me and they think have "hand" (watch the Seinfeld episode to catch the reference), I could care less. I am actually happy to leave.
And since the contract is expiring (AKA "no more work"), this means I'm eligible for unemployment?
That would be nice.
