I picked one up at Circuit City also. The CC by me had both the 121032 and 121032A

The 12 10 32 contains Burnproof and the other one has JustLink.

The Burnproof one I bought is definitely a Plextor (It has a TLA # on the underside of the drive).

Good deal for $99

Nero 5.0 is free upgradeable to 5.5

Why not use the Dell 20% off and get it for $121, then use the rebate?

Edit: Nevermind, I noticed that Dell had the Teac instead of TDK.

There's a posting by bullgates in "the other" forum-site that Sears has this for $99...and that's not including the $40 rebate!

Nice deal. Is there a rebate on the 16x/10x/40x too? I had a defective burner (different type-external) I am exchanging for the velo 16/10/40 since I decided to remove a drive and replace it internally. Got it for 149.99...

Just a note on this drive.. TDK has switched to using Ricoh drives as their OEM source on the 12x veloCD's.

The older ones that say BURN-Proof on the box are Plextor's.. the new ones say JustLink and are Ricoh drives. There was some time in the middle when they were shipping Ricoh's with BURN-Proof on the box...

Just warning you guys. Personally I think the Ricoh is a better drive.

Buy.com lowered their price to $145, so it's now $105 with rebate.

Btw Kenji, Spoofee.com is cool. keep it up.

If you're willing to buy a back-ordered drive, why not get the Iomega 16x from buy.com. It's the same hardware as the Plextor. It cost $200.95, before a $20/$200 buy.com coupon and a $50 MIR from Iomega putting it at <$140 with shipping. Only thing is the $20 off coupon expires today. 🙂
Just FYI,
D.

Nice bundle set, came with CD LABELING PEN, 2 CD-RS, 1 CD-RW, video tape on how to install. Very nice, very stylish, nice deal!

<< Make sure the CDRW box says "burnproof" and the model number is 121032 and not 121032A. If it has the A, it means it's a rebadge of the Ricoh instead of Plextor. >>

Is the Ricoh version the 7120A or the one with Ricoh's equivalent to Burnproof, called Justlink, the 7125 (newegg.com sells the latter as an Aopen for about $100).
