Get The Led Out.

They are different than the other Zep tribute bands I've seen in that they don't recreate Zep live shows. The live shows were straight 4 piece arrangements. What GTLO does is recreate the album experience live. They have extra players to play all the overdubs and stuff you hear on the album versions. It really is an amazing show.

This particular concert was really different. They teamed up with a string quartet and modern dance company. Ok, modern dance isn't normally my thing. But for one night it was great. Here's a clip....

Saw Pinback play their "Summer in Abaddon" album in full + a number of other songs a few weeks ago. Was a great show- that's my favorite album of theirs, so was cool to hear the whole thing played live.

Crosses at Exit/In in the Spring
Failure at Exit/In in the Summer (amazing)
Helmet in Warsaw, Poland in Sept.

Helmet show was the 20th anniversary show for Betty. It was pure luck that I was in Warsaw for business and my last night in town I found out Helmet was playing there. They played over 30 songs and started with Betty in its entirety. Page gave me his guitar pick after he played the whole album. I ended up with another pick at the end of the show and got his set list as well. They were really down to earth guys and got to hang with them after the show. Oddly enough, they had played Exit/In a few weeks prior and they had a few choice works for Filter, lol. So I got the band to sign my set list, Betty t-shirt and Page signed the Betty pick. Great experience for my last night in Warsaw! One of my fav all time bands.

Saw Night Ranger a couple of weeks ago at the EPCOT Food & Wine Fest. Probably the 30th time I've seen them because the wife has been a dedicated, life-long fan. Going to see Dennis DeYoung tomorrow night.

Sting. Annie Lennox opened for him. Both were awesome.

I saw Neil Young and Crazyhorse in the 80s at the RPI Fieldhouse in upstate NY. I've also seen Frank Zappa twice and the Moody Blues a few times along with a bunch of other great artists during the 80s.

I don't go to shows much anymore....last I remember was Phish in 2009, the Halloween event in those east of LA area dirt-filled polo grounds. whatever it's called.
