I've just picked up Prey by Michael Crichton. Reviews say it isn't too great a book but I enjoy most of his books.

What have you been reading?

I'm currently making my way through On The Road by Jack Kerouac. It's great.

I want to read Joseph Heller's Catch-22 this summer too. And some others, but I haven't decided which ones yet.

If I had to recommend any book, it would be The Long Walk by Richard Bachman (aka Stephen King)
It was the most fvck up thing I have ever read and haunted me for days. Totally disturbing.

After that, I would have to say... the Chronicles of Thomas Covenant by Stephen R. Donaldson. Read them years and years ago. A great read.

🙂

He Leadeth Me by Fr. Walter Ciszek

The story of an American Jesuit priest's 23 years of imprisionment in Siberia during WWII and the Cold War.

Anything by Dan Brown. My personal fav is Angels and Demons. The pre-quel to The Divinci Code.

Both excellent reads.

I've just finished "The Hanged Man's Song" by John Sandford, for the second time in as many months, and wish there were more out there in this sub-genre. It's the third or fourth in a series by this author. Set-up: painter/hacker uses his skills to track evildoers at great risk to self. If you know of anything similar, I'd love to hear about it.

fast food nation by eric schlosser.
stuff by dan brown and kurt vonnegut.
don't forget hitchhiker's guide!!

i suggest you simply read catch-22 over and over and over again.

I last read Hell's Angels by Hunter S. Thompson. Before that I read another of his books, Songs of the Doomed Vol. 3. Right now I'm reading The Sun Also Rises by Hemingway.

I recommend Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, I haven't read it myself but after reading two of Thompson's books I can't wait to read what most call a classic and by far his best work. He is really a fantastic writer with some interesting stories to tell.

Yes! I read that last year, loved it. I ended up changing my SN to JackKerouac and now have a poster of him over my bed. Just picked up The subterraneans. So far, so good.

Influence: The Psychology of Persuasion
Voodoo Science
Basic Virology
Introduction to Atmospheric Physics
Principles of Stellar Evolution and Nucleosynthesis
Donald Trump's How To Get Rich 😀

I'm a bibliophile; I read everything.

Just read The Testament by John Grisham and currently reading A Time To Kill...before u guys beat me up about not enough variety....i just spent a whole year reading classics and Shakespeare and stuff like that, and i've already read two of dan brown's books since x-mas as well...my goal is to finish all of Grisham's novels by this x-mas...

Dave

For light reading, I liked all of the books by Nelson Demille You can read some of the first chapters from his books on his website, see if they interest you.

Just saw on his website that he wrote a cheesy looking series under the pseudonym Jack Cannon. Might have to check out some used book stores see if I can dig those up.
