New trailer

Still looking good. And looks like it is a pretty faithful adaptation. Still haven't seen anything that captures the humor though.

So far at least. The bending looks good but we'll have to see how the acting goes. Heard the kids range from wooden to over-doing it.

You even can catch a glimpse of Appa.

Can M. Knight rid himself of the Shamalamadingdong moniker by putting out a good movie?

loved the cartoon. will probably see the movie just because of it.

I hope the movie does it justice...I am hoping for a decent movie, because the cartoon was fantastic, and I don't normally like any type of anime, no matter how 'americanized' it is.

Is it bad I remember where those scenes came from within the show. :p

Not at all. It was my favorite show to watch with my kids before the series finally ended. Now I'm a big Phineas and Ferb fan.

Anyways, other than the acting, my main concern is that the light-hearted humor from the show will be lost. M. Night just doesn't do the kind of charm and humor that was in the show. Everything he does is pretty foreboding, moody, and kind of dark. Which is mostly reflected in this trailer.

Awesome. The show was great and I'm excited for the movie, though not without reservations. We'll see how the movie actually is, but I'm going to go see it solely because the show was great.

Well spoken. After seeing the trailer I wonder if/how much they've changed characters. I really can't imagine Sokka's wit and awesomely bad puns fitting in with that trailer. I hope he doesn't start spouting off action hero one liners.
Anyone remember the second season where he was doing the haiku battle? That was pretty sweet.

I watched The 6th Sense and thought it was ok, then watched Unbreakable and was just blown away with how horridly bad it was that I said I would never watch another of his movies. I heard Signs, The Village, Lady in the Water and The Happening were all bad as well. I have no desire to see another movie from this director.

I will wait to see what friends say about this movie before I even attempt to see it. The trailer looks good, but will still wait.

This is what I thought Cameron's movie would be. I was a bit confused when it came out and had nothing to do with airbending. I know my daughter will want to see it; I ... could care less.

Yeah, the trailer actually reminds me of 300. The music even sounds the same as does the narrator.

Would have been funny if they did "This is madness!" "No, this is Avatar State!!!" when Aang started glowing. :D

Loved loved loved the cartoon.

But christ...MNS.
My thoughts exactly, though, I can't think of any cartoon->live action film that has done good. (unless you consider some the resent comic book movies, however, for every good comic book movie there is 100 bad ones)

Considering all the spoofs of the 300 trailer, I wouldn't be surprised to see an avatar one.

By the way, what is the movie supposed to cover? The first season? Second or third? All of them? Or a completely new plot? The more I think about it the more difficult it seems to be able to condense a series into a movie. I hope it turns out well.
