Has anyone had this done? How much of an improvement did you get? Any problems with night driving?

I'm currently 40/400 uncorrected, 20/20 corrected . . . but glasses suck. ;)

well
My degree is -7.5/20 on one eye and -7/20 on the other and the optometrist reckons I am correctable to 20/20. So you should be just fine there. Recovery time has improved too, although eyes will need drops for a few weeks. Night driving should be fine, unless you already have a problem with it.
I hope to do it when I can get the damn money together. It's not cheap and for some reason is classified as cosmetic surgery in australia so no health benefits.

And in case anyone is wondering. No I cannot see dick without corrective lenses of some kind.

haha no. Well blurry at a distance is better than me.
Get a photo, open photoshop.
Blur the entire image until it's just shades of colours and no details.
That's my world :)

My friend had it done last summer. He was playin volleyball the night after the surgery with protective eyewear. He said that as the days progressed, his vision went from incredibly blurry to perfect.

On that note, id highly reccomend TLC Eye Care. Dunno if they have any offices near you (im down in Florida)... I look for the website and post it here when i find it... Also, Tiger Woods had his eyes done at a TLC.

EDIT: uh oh.... Just noticed that this is my 666 post :)

Two friends of mine had their eyes done at TLC... Both haven't had any problems.. One has small circles around lights at night - similar to when you swim at night and look at lights.. but its much less noticeable than after swimming

Had it done 2X to each eye, I was seriously blind, now @ 20/25 or so, no glasses for me.

Oh yeah, it blinded me for a week each time, something about corneas wrinkling when they got laid back down, I I still have discomfort in my left eye sometimes. The correction isn't as good as a good new pair of glasses, actually sort of like going to my previous pair of glasses as far as acuity, etc seem.

The amount of correction you'll prob need done is similar to mine, I was 20/400 or so too, you can expect multiple procedures to get to where you don't need glasses with the current technology.

I'd hold off for a couple of years if I were you, there's some techniques coming that are supposed to give nearly everyone 20/10 after the procedure.

Best $$ I ever spent. Actually it was a gift from my wife.

Both eyes 20/15. I was blind as a bat before.

And you're right, glasses suck. ;)

laser surgery has always sounded like a great idea to me, especially if they can make eyesight better than normal. But the again there's always that "what if" they screw it up and instead of having bad vision to being blind forever...
