When I searched to see if someone else had posted this, I found one other video. In that video, they used a pen/marker to draw a line on the eye before shaving the "skin" and peeling it back.

I'm thinking that the mark is so they can make sure to put the skin back to the same place when they want to put it together again... kind of like marking top dead center when you tear apart an engine. :D

That "skin" is your cornea.

BTW if you think that video is bad check out the video here:

If they fvck up the first one you might end up with one of these. I hope to have one next month.

Wow, watching that movie made me glad I had my flap cut with a laser. Either way, the whole procedure wasn't fun....but it worked.

Yes you are fully awake as they need your cooperation during it. You have to follow a blinking light with your eye the entire time. They do put anesthesia on the eye, so there really is no pain. The only thing is a uncomfortable pressure feeling you get when they put that clamp over the eye. Other than that, it's a pretty easy procedure.

The trippy thing is after they cut the cornea, everything looks all psychadelic like you are on drugs or something.

Wow... I had LASIK done, and still cringed at that video. Still, LASIK was the best thing I've ever bought for myself.

I got a good doctor - not one of the $300 ones. After having super thick glasses my whole life, I now have perfect vision with no "night halos" or any other negative side effects that are often reported.
