I would rather wear glasses for distance than have to wear them to see up close. If you are near sighted, can see up close without glasses, if you get this procedure don't you lose the ability to see up close, or run that risk at age 40 like most normal sighted people.

I'm only 1.5 and when I wear my contacts it's hard to impossible to see up close depending on what I'm looking at. That could be a problem...

Weve got this place down in south florida, called TLC eye care centers.... Not only did my friends go there for lasik, but they also did tiger woods and a few other celebrities. Supposed to be one of the best in the country... Last i saw they were charging $999 per eye.

My brother who is the docter that did the surgery on me, is VERY conservative, BUT if his patience follow his advice regarding 3 months, they end up with MUCH better results.

theoretically your eyes are healed after 1 week, but there can still be shifting with the flap. Why not play it safe, it's your EYES for pete's sake.

That's why I'll be waiting a few more years before I consider it.

There's a place in Pittsburgh that's now advertising Lasik for $299 per eye! Business must be falling off.

FWIW there was a study done on complication rates and they found doctors that had performed at least 1500 corrections had complications rates of 0.3%, the average complication rate that is typically quoted is much higher because it's like 10% for the first 500 people a doctor does. So if you do get the procedure done make sure the doc has done at least 1500 corrections.
