laser printer for text (personal)

I already have an inkjet for doing photos and those case when color is need but the operating cost is so much higher, I'd like to added a laser for printing b&w documents. Monthly usage would be around 500 pages (so this is in the personal rather than the corporate range). Speed is not so important; 10ppm would be plenty. Budget for the printer: $300. What printer would you recommend ?


How is the Samsung ML-1710?

The OS is WinXP Pro.
