Larry Bird vs Big Papi

You can't really.... But I was at the Sox game on monday when Papi hit the walk off home run so I voted for him 😀

As of late papi has really come into his own but he's only be a clutch hitter for maybe 4 years (i think). Where as bird was a clutch player for years upon years and helped lead one of the most famous dynasties ever.

Ending a game with a hit or homerun is much more difficult than making a basket.

it is not more difficult than doing it repeatedly in the playoffs for an entire career during the finest era of the NBA

I think it's much more exciting as well.
Because it's rather rare where as ending a game with a basket isn't.

I read this article earlier today. Papi is hands down the clutchest hitter in baseball over the past 3 years, but he's been good for what, 3.5 years? It's been annoying me that people compared him to Michael Jordan who was clutch from his tourney winner at UNC in 82 to his last game with the bulls in 98. Or Bird who was clutch from his college days to the end of his career. If Ortiz can keep this up for, I dunno, another 10 years, then he will deserve to be in the conversation, in the meanwhile, to quote the Wolf from Pulp Fiction, let's not start sucking each other's ****s quite yet.

Who's more clutch:

Bird or Joe Montana?

Bird. There's more pressure put on a basketball player to make a play than a football player since a star basketball player is probably putting up a buzzer beater when everyone in the state knows he will be taking the shot, thus making it a higher degree of clutchness.

Montana was the best big-game qb ever though, although Brady is coming close.

Montana....

Super Bowl you only get one shot...they only play one game to decide the championship

NBA Finals you got 7 shots to win 4 games....

Montana hands down....

I kind of agree with the author of the article. Neither Bird nor Montana can really be "passed" they can only be joined.
