everything is smaller then the C-5 Galaxy

Length: 247 feet, 10 inches
Wingspan: 222 feet, 9 inches
Height: 65 feet
except perhaps for the Antonov 225

Length: 275 feet, 7 inches
Wingspan: 290 feet
Height: 59 feet, 5 inches

That Antonov is insane.. you woudn't think something that big could fly..

HOLY SH!T that is massive

C5's are awesome. I used to live near Westover Airforce Base in Massachusetts, those things were always flying in and out of there.

Look at the bend in the wing in this pic.

That thing must look like a bird when it hits turbulence.

correct, the C-5 is the largest of NATO aircraft, eclipsed only by the AN 225. They actually have an internal stairway in the vertivcal tail for access out a hatch on tope of the horizontal stabilizer for maintenance, since most equipment available at an airfield won't reach. Like a C-130, the C-5 can take off from a dirt airstrip, something most planes half it's size can't even do. They are awesome to see in flight....they appear to move so slowly, you can hardly believe it's staying aloft. And the noise of the engines is unlike anything else I've heard....an odd grating hum to it instead of the whistling of most large aircraft. C-130s are actually quite small in comparison.

While most talk about it... some do it. Fcuk, when I was sitting in the C-5 and it was taking off, I remember hearing myself thinking "How the fcuk is this fat piece of shiet gonna fly? I can get out and run faster than this"

bastard, I hate you, and can you pull some strings so I can come along next time? ;)

Range: Unlimited with in-flight refueling
lol, isn't this obvious? Why do they bother putting it...they should just have the range of the plane with full tanks, then "Note: capable of in-flight refueling"

I've watched over the shoulder of the guy flying the boom in a KC135 while they were refueling a 3 ship flight of C141s. Gives you a whole new perspective on the term aeroelasticity! The wings were flapping, the tail was wagging bag and forth. Was amazing ... you wonder how they hold together.

I've been inside one. That is a friggin' huge airplane.

I've also been in the Spruce Goose when it was in Long Beach.

Look at this 747-400

The 747 is designed to withstand 29 feet of vertical movement. :D
