I was out in the shop messing with h2o rads. The guys start yelling about this plane flying over (there is an airport very close) I looked out the over-head doors and was shocked at the size of this plane. I am very use to seeing c-130's, but this thing blew that away in size. I searched some places and found the plane. It was a C-17 Globemaster. *#$% me...it was huge!!!

They must not land here if they are bigger...well, they could be longer and would not seem as large. This was short and so bulky....was cool.

I jsut looke dup a 747, we dont have tose here. I am in SLC, not really internation here, yet.

No offense dude, but the way you posted that it sounded like it was going to be something like, "OMG, I just found this awesome site where you can get all the mp3s you want for just $30 a month! Go here to find out more." (By the way, don't go there.)

Cool though. Freakin' huge plane eh?

One day I want to see a Spruce Goose. ;)

It's hard to beleive there aren't any 747s at the SLC airport. They fly into pretty much every major airport in the world.

An-225 Cossack Achievements
Portions of a second An-225 have been built, but to this day only one has ever flown -- breaking numerous records.
The An-225 is the largest aircraft in the world; with a wingspan of 290 feet and a length of 275 ft 7 inches.

An-225 Cossack Background

The An-225 Cossack holds the current world record for the largest aircraft in the world, yet has never gone into full production and probably never will. The An-225 is a six-engine development of the An-124 designed to carry the Soviet 'Buran' space shuttle on its back. A new central wing section with two more engines was inserted, twin tail fins were fitted, the landing gear was reinforced and dorsal attachment points were added. The first An-225 prototype flew on 21 December 1988. This prototype, after having been grounded for many years, is now operational as a jumbo cargo aircraft.
