Massive technique fail.

With huge joints you crimp around the entire circumference at the lighting tip and then roll your tongue around that circumference so that when you take a match or lighter to it, you can then neatly remove the entire "hat" of excess paper, leaving a perfectly balanced but open end to then light up . . . or so I've been told.

i think with a joint that large, and with that thickness, you might need some MIGHTY lungs to draw a toke through there. i never got a good look at the toking end.

Biggest I've had was slightly bigger than my thumb at a friend's place. We all chipped in. Acapulco gold. 75 or 76. Zappa's Bongo Fury playing in the background. Silly grins all around. We were more into hotknifing some nice really dark hash during those 'meetings' though.

That's what we used for the largest I've ever had, too. Burned for a looong time, but the paper was not so great, in the end. Did take a bit of puffing to finally get the smoke out the unlit end.....and that one in the video, no way anyone got anything out of it for quite a while.

While it may be true a funnel is a funnel, a jay isn't airtight.....once you quit toking on it, air seeps back into the jay, fron the sides and end, essentially stipping the smoke's progress down the jay. Would take a vacuum cleaner hooked up to it to and running for a minute or two to get enough smoke to the end before you could actually get a hit from it.
