Where can I get large quantities of shipping tubes? 100-200 at a time initially, after the first batch or two it might just be in quantities of 500.

Use the cardboard tube you already have.

I suspect this is to be used for modification of a vented resonator? Thinwall PVC pipe is superior to rolled paper any day. It can be modified, hot air welded into any shape the user wants and training on the equipment is a snap. :)

If you have a reprographics shop nearby, they usually have extremely sturdy cardboard tubes that they throw out by the dozens. The paper they use in their printers comes in various width rolls. I've seen 11", 17", 24" and 36". Chances are good you could have them for nothing. I think they are 3" diameter.

You could lay one on the floor and stand on it and it wouldn't crush.
