Hello everybody, I am a student in engineering and we're having to design a color blind assistant for one of my classes. Since this is a computer forum maybe you guys can give me some ideas. I wouild appreciate any help, read below for the desctiption. and let me know what I can use to accomplish this and how.

Thanks

"Colorblind people face many difficulties in identifying matching clothes colors, ties, shoes,? Design a color blind assistant system that identifies the colors of clothes and matching shirts, ties, pants, shoes,, dresses, scarf and others to assist color blind individuals. The system must have a complete database of color spectrum, matching principles and a voice system to inform the user of the ?quality? of the match and of the color of the items. The ?quality? of the match is defined by an index that ranges from 0 to 1 where is 0 is No Match and 1 is Perfect Match. "

Do some research into what kind of visual representations the human brain is good at learning and retaining. Personally I think you should go with graphical symbols. Three dots in a horizontal line for red, three dots in a vertical line for blue, etc.

Look into expert/knowledge-based systems.

I think it stated that it has to have a voice output of the actual color, so im assuming it will deal with programming. thanks for the help tho.

So, you have to make a hypothetical design, or you really gotta make this thing?

What year are you in, that may make the difference of whether you can get away with some cheezy concept that would barely work or something that has to be good enough to want to patent.
