Family member has moved and want to transfer some large files. What is the best way? I have noticed in the past that msn can cut out and than have to start over again. Thanks

AIM is slow. At campus when i get stuff from other people on campus max is around 1 MB/s with Direct connect i get around 8 MB/s

ONE nice FREE and easy way --> USENET, posting the files on a Newsgroup. Granted that is if you know how to use the newsgroups and can handle zipping up files with WinRar, if so it's a piece of cake, but since you are asking how to do all of this I get the feeling you don't know.

How large are we talking about? If it's over a gig and your on a normal home connection, it'll take you ages to upload it to an FTP for them to get. Just burn it to a DVD and send it in th email.

Thanks guys, I will try aim - as speed is not the issue - I will also try usenet - just to prove I can do it!

AIM will be slow if it has to go through the AOL Proxy (like it probably does on many campuses), but or else it should be a fairly standard TCP/IP file transfer. I've had issues with it resuming before, but usually it works fine.
