Hey all,

I posted in the General Hardware forum with a build / recommendation, and it's shaped up really nicely. The only issue is I REALLY can't decide on a GPU / Monitor combo. I've decided I'll probably get a 27" IPS monitor for gaming in 1440p - I really enjoy the colors over the "responsiveness."

My PC budget is $2500-3000, I need everything.

I've allotted a MAX of $1000 for GPU's. Any recommendations?

I'll be playing BF4 (preferably in ultra at 1440p), WoW, other MMORPGs, LoL, SC2, GW21. I'll also be livestreaming in 1080p if possible.

Best deal in the house is two Asus 7970's that are $270 each with promo code EMCYTZT4469 on Newegg. Ends tomorrow, so you better go ahead and get 3 of them. Of course, the price will drop once the new cards come out anyway.

Newegg is terrible for coming up with these humongous deals right after I make my purchases....

I had 4GB 770's in my cart, but still debating. The 7970's look clean too. As EightSix Four said, maybe I'll wait for the BF4 alpha reviews / new AMD cards to come out before purchasing. If the cards are $500-600 I may pick up two of them!

Id still be waiting to see IF they can fix CF on resolutions bigger than 25x16, so especially to eyefinity users, before dropping money on multiple 7970s....no matter how cheap they are...

Given the lack of performance detail of the new AMD GPU's I'd get a pair of 7970's. You could wait but I can't see how the deal can get much sweeter before they get replaced. 7950 tri-fire would also be an option and would be the fastest deal by a long way. I've had tri-fire and use quadfire now and they do work and work well in most cases. Sometimes with a new game you have to wait for a new crossfire profile.

I'd wait for the hard launch of the new AMD GPUs and real time benches before ordering but that's just my opinion.
