I'm an introvert and even I see the good that comes out of being in socialable terms with a roommate.

I'd hate to live with you - not talking with roommates is a way to cement the "awkward" title. Nobody likes being around awkward people.

Being socialable with a roommate is only going to make me cement how stupid they are, and thus hate to live with them.

Wow, you're seriously a wise and beautiful woman. I hope your new roommates beat the shit out of you, then buttfuck you with a baseball bat.

Really, your attitude is so full of failure it's painful. If that's how you're bent on feeling about a roommate you haven't yet lived with, I can't imagine you're going to get far with casual or professional relationships...much less something on a more personal level.

To each their own I guess. :\

The reality is OP is a massive buzzkill and no one wants to be around him. So he masks his loneliness with misanthropic hate.

But it's all ok. He's CONFIDENT. :awe:

Uh huh that's why everyone of the threads he creates are some variation of

"help I'm unable to make any decision for myself and because I have no personal relationship with anyone in real life I rely on an Internet forum to help me. Yet when I get help I make statements to contradict said help thus driving more people away." It screams confidence.

infinitely useful if you're in college. maybe you can get away with a nice desktop and a cheap 13" laptop or even smaller netbook.

for me, i have a 15" macbook pro and its my only machine. it has the best of both worlds for me - portability and performance. 13" mbp is too small and compromises on the performance, and the 17" is a bit too big.

Don't make him break out a link to a definition of confidence.

too heavy to really be portable. Netbook or better yet, a tablet... would love to have one to throw around the living room while watching the tube. I hate bringing my laptop around.

I can't believe there's a 5 page thread on the (de)merits of owning a laptop. If anyone was unsure, I'd think it would be resolved in 1 page, even with my default view settings o_O

I had a great netbook but once I got my laptop the screen on the netbook just seemed too small.

"The purpose of life is not to avoid pain." -Dennis Prager

Perspectives on life change.
A college student may want a gaming laptop really bad, but would go for a business laptop instead because he/she wouldn't have time for playing PC games?

Is it painful to not get the 17" gaming laptop over the 14" business laptop?
How much does it hurt?
What are the benefits?

What does your damn future look like, playing video games at home, vs. traveling to a technology conference to take notes?

A laptop is a tool just like anything else. If it doesn't benefit you, simply figure it out if you want it or not, and move on with fvcken life.

Quit whining for attention about how many desktops you have at home and how much better they are than laptop because your cell phone has HD.

its a trident thread. He could start a new topic about if he should take a poop or not and it would get to 3 pages minimum

YAT(ridenT)T!

You're such a classless asshole, TridenT. If your future roommates are miserable fucks, it's because YOU made them that way with your shitty attitude.

If I were you'd I'd take a long flying fuck off the top of a 15-story building.

I had a laptop for a while, and I always felt artificially restricted. I always got stuff done faster on my desktop (even with a laptop that had similar performance to my desktop).

I got rid of my laptop a while ago because I hardly used it, and I rarely took it anywhere else besides work. I wouldn't mind getting a netbook or ipad for couch surfing (hell maybe an iphone, I still have a dumbphone with no data), but I'm not in any rush to do so.

iPhone is handy. It's very convenient compared to a laptop considering it fits in my pocket. :p I don't want to take my laptop everywhere I go. I'm going to be biking everywhere and I'll have a lot of books in my backpack that will fill it up. I'd have to get a separate bag just for the laptop. I am thinking of getting some panniers and a rack for my bike so I can use that, but it's seeming pretty gloom since I literally fill my backpack to the brim if not more than that all the time with my paper, notes, books. (All of which are mandatory things to carry everyday I go to school) I don't see how I can easily go from panniers to stuffing my backup all the time easily. It's probably not feasible. I wonder how much strain it could put on my back having a huge backpack on all the time while I ride. Gotta check a biking forum I guess.

Anyway.... I don't see myself using a laptop that often. More convenient than my phone, but way less convenient than a nice desktop with full keyboard, mouse, etc. Idk... I'd be more productive actually doing the homework at home too.

I don't focus on one subject when doing my homework that often. I usually bounce subject to subject or do homework/play/homework/play, etc.

I use an Asus G72 to watch Netflix instant streaming in bed. It's a lot of convenience for only ~$1000.

Better than desktops if you leave basement. As in no computer vs having a computer.
