I think the vast number of threads are about upgrading graphics in laptops. So I will get it started. Hopefully the mods will be kind enough to sticky this so we can reduce the number of people answering this and many other questions.

Time to get the ball rolling:

Q - Can I upgrade my graphics card in my laptop?

A - No. Newer laptops may allow upgrades in the near future but for the most part you are stuck with the GPU that the manufacturer chose for that model.

Anyone else have any questions they want to ask or put here with answers? I will update the OP (with credit) and feel free to link to this thread to answer a question.

Q - Can I upgrade the Memory on my Dell laptop without voiding my warranty?

A - Yes, you may, but it's important to know that the memory upgrade will not be supported by or carry a warranty through dell unless purchased directly through them.

I recommend visiting Crucial.com to find a compatible upgrade.

Q - Can you please help me with a laptop for _____? (School, work, hobbies ....)

A - In order to get proper help and suggestions, please post what you plan on using your laptop for, your budget, size requirements and the maximum weight you can tolerate.

Edit - A good way to figure out the weight you can tolerate is to go to a store and inspect the laptops of different weight and size in person. Add a few extra pounds minimum for the charger (most manufacturers don't include this in the weight declaration), laptop bags and accessories (such as mouse, cooling pad etc.).
