Laptops allowed on airplane?

Also, I heard it would need to be checked at the airport by someone before I can take it on...true?

link? cuz the only reason you can't use phones on planes in the US is because it makes it impossible to figure out which cell they're in. its an FCC reg that the FAA enforces.

When I went on the plane, they didn't make me turn it on. They swabbed it or something for drugs? I guess because I was going on a flight that left at 11:30pm and looked like a college student.
