Laptop

I'm in the market for a laptop and I am confused on to which system to purchase. I am chosing between a Dell, Gateway, and a Toshiba. All of which are $1248 with the options I want. However, I get the most with the Toshiba. Is Toshiba a good reliable brand for a laptop? I've only delt with Dells in my past as a Network Administrator.

FWIW, Toshiba laptops I used several years ago were noticeably slower than their Dell counterparts (slow BIOS or something.)

Every Dell I've used at work or for my personal use have been great. My current one, Inspiron 8100, has been on 24/7 for 2 years (except for being off on long trips) and the only problem is the harddrive gets flaky once in a while (due to me dropping it once.)

BUMP for a dell inspiron 8100 user. My 8100 is almost 2 years old. never gave me headache.

But I heard people flattering IBM T series.

I owned a Toshiba laptop for 1.5 years and just recently sold it in excellent condition. I've never owned a Dell to compare it to, but I never had any problems with Toshiba's quality.

BTW, I sold it because I'm out of classes for 6 months and it's time for an upgrade after that period of time. Not related to a problem with this laptop.

Toshiba, Dell, and IBM are the only laptop brands I'd ever buy...

I've had good experiences with the Toshiba Satellites.

Sounds good. The Toshiba comes with basically everything and more, so I may just go with them. I have to get Toshiba to offer free shipping because their competitors do so right now.
