Laptop won't boot

Just picked up an old Omnibook 600CT which is a 75mhz 486 for free and it won't boot. I can plug it in and I know it has power because a green light turns on. I'm thinking maybe the battery isn't charged enough because it's been sitting for a while. I don't have much expirence with laptops so does anyone else have an idea why it might not be turning on. I press the on/off button but it dosen't do a thing, no movement, beeps, or any output to the screen. Thanks.

I think I know why you got it for free. 🙂 Most laptops will run even with a zero-charged battery as long as the power cord is connected. My first guess is that the power button is busted, other than that I can't help you. Take it apart and see if the power switch is OK, if you bust it it's not like you lost a lot in the deal.

That usually indicates that the CPU needs to be reseated. Sometimes they work loose, and you get a LED flash, but after that . . . nada!
